The youth of America are the future of the shooting sports. The SVGC proudly sponsors Boy Scout Venturing Crew 105 (chartered by St. Mark's UMC, Bloomington), serving the needs of young men and women ages 14 - 21. These trained youth help spread the gun safety message to younger shooters in area Boy Scout and Cub Scout programs. 4-H, Olympic and other youth shooting programs are sponsored as well. A designated rally camp area within the Freedom Conservancy supports overnight camping for youth groups interested in education and participation in the shooting sports. The SVGC is a National Rifle Association (N.R.A.) member club and is affiliated with the Civilian Marksmanship Program (C.M.P.) of the U.S. Government. All shooting instructors are N.R.A. Certified and all shooting programs are N.R.A. and/or C.M.P. approved.
